GRO: What specific issues are you
looking at this year?
TF: We are looking at utility
integration of renewable energy,
and we’re also focused on the
transportation side of renewable
industries, including biofuels
and electric vehicles. Cleaner
fuels is the core issue.
A very important area we’re
tackling and have been working
on for some time is with regards
to international conf licts and
war. Some military bases are
using renewables, like solar pan-
els and fuels cells, we want to
increase that use. In addition,
casualties
have
risen
in
countries at war—there is a ris-
ing incidence of fuel conf lict.
There is too much demand that
is endangering soldiers. We want
to reduce the need for fuel so we

understanding of renewable energy
issues through convening and education,
and through publishing initiatives, such
as the Interactive Report: Renewable
Energy in America — Markets, Economic
Development and Policy in the 50 States;

Partners for Renewable Energy Finance
(US PREF) White Papers; as well as other
publications available on our Publications
web page.

(REFIN) Directory as a financial tool
for connecting project developers and
sources of funding for renewable energy
projects.
