NRG1-ECO: has demand in-
creased? Is the company working
with new clients to integrate the
product?
Trang Tran-Valade:
Interest in an
automated Ventilation Control System,
such as NRG1-ECO®, has certainly
increased as mining clients are seek-
ing out proven technology that can
help them enhance health and safety,
reduce energy consumption, and in-
crease mine production. BESTECH is
currently working with several clients
and technology partners in assessing
how best to integrate the solution and
its value-added control strategies with-
in the mines.
Have any changes been made to
NRG1-ECO?
Trang Tran-Valade:
Yes, we have
a dedicated Research and Develop-
ment team that works on developing
new solutions or features that address-
es our clients’ needs. In the past year,
we have continued to expand NRG1-
ECO’s integration capabilities with
other technologies including ventila-
tion modeling software and asset tag-
ging systems. We have also launched
the LOCATE module which provides
instant, real time information to
quickly locate personnel, vehicles and
equipment within a mine. LOCATE of-
fers a central site where personnel and
asset location information can be dis-
played and viewed. The web-enabled,
intuitive system assists with moni-
toring the evacuation of personnel
and facilitates asset management by
identifying their locations in the event
of emergencies or operational proce-
dures, such as daily blasts or health
and safety training drills. LOCATE
integrates with various RTLS systems
and is accessible from mobile devices,
making it easy to use on the go.
