GLOBAL RENEWABLES ONLINE - JANUARY 2012
“Originally we thought the
process of revamping would take six
months, but it ended up taking two
years—a process that was worth it.”
The company now sells a 50 kW
wind turbine, its newest and largest
wind turbine system. The 50 kW
generates sufficient electricity for
small wind farms, larger farms and
businesses. ReDriven also sells a 20
kW model, which generates
sufficient electricity to power a
reasonable size farm, small school
or business building. The 10 KW
and 5 KW models generate sufficient
electricity to power homes and
cottages.
STAFF AND DEALER NETWORK
“Nothing makes a company come
together more than the right staff,”
Grant comments. “Our core compe-
tencies are our team and our
dealers. Currently we have 45 people
on staff, but are getting to the
success level that I can see us
growing 4 to 5 people a month in
the next while. It is because of our
history of service and we have such
a good product—this is enabling us
to grow.”
The staff of ReDriven knows about
safety—one of the most critical
things for ReDriven’s business. “The
biggest thing is safety, and keeping
the rpm under control. Everything
we have is connected to our head
office, so we monitor and maintain
them, and our dealer network
monitors them. We control the safety
and the quality.”
The company’s dealer network is
currently focused on North America,
the UK and the rest of Europe, but
Grant says the company is doing
well in the Caribbean, the U.S., in
South America and some parts of
Central America and Australia. “We
are doing well in our class and
really only have one main competi-
tor,” he adds.
“One of the most important
elements for us now and in the
future is having the best staff
possible, and we always need to have
a consistent and educated dealer
body. We simply have a high caliber
team in both areas, which will
enable us to be successful long into
the future,” Grant concludes.
ReDriven believes that wind power
is the future of electricity, and are
well-positioned to be part of that
future.
