GLOBAL RENEWABLES ONLINE - JANUARY 2012
editor’s
note
2012 will be a year for milestones in the renewables
community. (That is, of course, if the world doesn’t
end in December. But the GRO team likes to stay
positive).
Last month, in our inaugural issue, we speculated
that several projects would come to fruition in 2012
in geothermal, wind and solar. As the months
progress, we will continue to give you updates on all
of these, including one we report on this month:
Vergnet’s Ashegoda wind farm in Ethiopia. While we
know there have been some execution delays on this
project, we are sure that Vergnet will have every
success in 2012 in their African markets. We have
also had the opportunity to speak with Philip Savieli,
of Fortune CP, to discuss his company’s emerging
projects in Africa. These will be the markets of the
future for wind, along with some of the most remote
areas in the world--companies like Vergnet and
Fortune continue to develop turbines that can
withstand the toughest of environmental conditions.
We are looking forward to sharing news of
renewables projects across the globe with you, our
new audience. To find out more about how you can
promote your project with GRO, contact me at sara.
