GLOBAL RENEWABLES ONLINE - FEBRUARY / MARCH 2012
CEC members are involved in
the development or deployment
of clean energy technologies such
as bioenergy, cogeneration, en-
ergy eff iciency, geothermal,
hydro, solar, solar hot water,
marine energy and wind. The
Council offers many benef its to
members—but its primary role is
to advocate for policy develop-
ment that will ultimately affect
the deployment of clean energy
technologies. While Australia
has seen many developments in
the renewable sector over the
past ten years, the Council has
committed to taking clean energy
technology development to the
next level, and GRO was able to
speak to the CEC’s policy team
to f ind out more about the leaps
and bounds Australia has made
in renewable development.
Russell Marsh, Policy Director
for the CEC, has over 10 years of
experience in climate and energy
policy, and has worked in senior
positions for a range of non-gov-
ernment,
environment
and
business organisations. Marsh
manages the CEC policy team
and oversees the co-ordination,
development, delivery and advo-
cacy of policy work across the
technologies CEC represents.
