HYBRID INSTALLAT IONS
Continuous renewable sources like geothermal energy and hydropower
can operate on an uninterrupted basis. Wind and solar energy is variable
throughout the day but often complement each other. Hybrid energy
capture is often the best solution. The most common marriage is between
wind and solar and the addition of a backup diesel generator reduces the
installed battery capacity. The backup generator can also have a
“renewable” element when fuelled with biodiesel.
