Ontario
Sustainable
Energy Association (OSEA) is a
province-wide, member-based,
non-proft organization representing
approximately 200 organizations and
individuals including private citizens,
cooperatives, farmers, First Nations,
businesses, institutions and municipali-
ties. OSEA members are engaged in or
supporting Community Power projects
and renewable energy.
VISION
Every Ontarian conserves power and
generates sustainable energy either as a
household or as a local community-owned
business, contributing to the rapid
transition to 100% sustainable energy.
MISSION
To act as the leading voice, advisor and
facilitator for the renewable energy sector
in Ontario and to provide an unparalleled
network to promote and enable the growth
of
community
and
commercial
sustianable energy in the province.

POLICY ADVOCACY AND
GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
• Advocated an advanced renewable energy
Feed-in Tariff program for Ontario, resulting
in the creation of the Renewable Energy
Standard Offer Program, a precursor to the
Green Energy Act and, at the time, the most
progressive energy policy in North America
in a decade.
• Successfully campaigned for a Green
Energy Act for Ontario, resulting in the
adoption of the Green Energy and Green
Economy Act (2009) and the Feed-in Tariff
program, making Ontario a leader in
renewable energy policy.
• OSEA continues to engage government,
regulators and enegry stakeholders on an
ongoing basis to ensure that communities
are empowered to develop their local
sustainable energy resources for a greener,
healthier future
