REDRIVEN POWER
UNIQUE SOLUTIONS FOR
THE SMALL WIND
MARKET
R
EDR I VEN POWER INC.
was
founded in Ontario in
September 2007, and the company
has seen its fair share of challenges.
However, armed with a knowledge-
able and growing staff, the company
has stuck to its purpose of
“supplying people with the knowl-
edge and tools necessary to generate
ecologically friendly electricity
through the use of wind turbines.”
The company serves the small
wind market, and has expertise that
it uses for developing wind genera-
tors for homeowners, farmers,
manufacturers and business pro-
prietors who are looking for a cost-
effective and environmentally
friendly energy source.
AN EVOLVING SUITE OF PRODUCTS
The company’s modern and sleek
wind power turbines are “guaran-
teed to suit any natural landscape
and produce efficient and environ-
mentally friendly electricity,” ac-
cording to their website. ReDriven
has unique products that carry
unique benefits:
All ReDriven towers are hydrau-
lic—they lay down to the ground for
maintenance. A crane is not
required to either install or maintain
the systems. Turbines are connected
to the internet and clients can track
their own power production.
ReDriven monitors the health of the
turbine.
“The start up and cut-in speeds
are among the lowest in the industry
at 3.5 mph and 4.4 mph. Most
competitors cut in at 7-10 mph,
missing the opportunity to produce
a significant amount of energy at
lower speeds,” the company says.
Each unit has an impressive eight
levels of safety and redundancy built
in, including 2 normally closed
brakes and active management. Not
to mention, ReDriven turbines are
some of the quietest in the small
wind industry.
ReDriven currently has dealers in
three continents within which it
serves seven countries. The compa-
ny is a leader in technological
advancements aimed to make the
process of generating wind power
more efficient. Part of the company’s
service offering is an online control,
audit and monitoring system
linking its wind turbines world-wide
and providing up-to-the-minute
data for its clients. ReDriven’s
proprietary Wind Management
System software (WMS) can
manage a wind turbine’s behaviour
in various wind conditions and to
help ensure the most efficient energy
production. Customers continue to
choose ReDriven because of the
company’s steadfast dedication to
its product, its team, and its dealer
network.
“It’s a great time for us—between
our patents and our product I think
we’re a global leader,” Christopher
Grant, CEO for ReDriven, tells
Industry Media.
Grant says that originally the
company struggled with a wind
turbine that was sourced from
China, and eventually stopped
production from that company, and
moved into doing the company’s own
design. “We had significant
experience in robotics and automa-
tion/mechanics. Therefore, we knew
we could move away from using the
wind turbines provided by the
Chinese company. We rebranded
that turbine company and
revamped,” he explains.
