raised $35,755 at the 2011 Walk
• The 2012 Manulife Walk for Memories is
the Alzheimer Society of Toronto’s 22nd annual
Walk
• This year’s goal is to raise $600,000
so the Society can continue to provide
counselling, education and information to
individuals and families in Toronto living with
Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The
funds raised will also help to provide more
education sessions to raise public awareness
of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias,
continuation of dementia care training courses
for frontline healthcare workers, as well as fund
research to find the cause and cure.
• It is a 45-minute indoor walk through the
underground PATH system in downtown Toronto,
beginning and ending at Brookfield Place
• The unique event attracts over 1,200
spouses, children, grandchildren, caregivers,
friends, and co-workers who walk to honour and
remember those living with Alzheimer’s disease
and other dementias
• This an incredibly collaborative partnership
of time, human resources and funding
• Additional information, including photos,
can be found on the Walk website that can be
