THE FUTURE
Currently, MC College Group
trains over 700 students every year
in Hairstyling, Esthetics and Fashion
Design and places over 95 per cent of
these students in training related po-
sitions. “Our job placement rates are
extremely high, and this really is one
of the most rewarding careers you can
get into,” Harrison comments.
MC College has made great
strides advancing the standards of
beauty education, and plans to con-
tinue to do so. When it comes to ex-
pansion strategies, MC College has
many balls in the air. “If an opportu-
nity presents itself to us to take over an
existing school we will look at it, but it
has to be in a geographical area that’s
feasible for us. So in the near future we
are really looking at expanding our op-
tions for programing,” Harrison notes.
All of our tests and our books can be
available online so we’re looking at
and alternate type of delivery of the
programs we already have as well, we
want distance learning to be a part of
what we do—there are lots of students
in remote areas of the country that
want to get into this business.”
MC College campuses partner
with salons and spas to make sure that
they are cross-promoting the industry
to students and future professionals.
When you’re interested in this indus-
try, you usually ask your hairstylist
where he or she went to school—this
means that we come by our enrolment
organically, we don’t need to do any
advertising,” Harrison concludes.
For MC College, placing students
in good jobs is critical, and raising the
bar for education in beauty is para-
mount. The college continues to de-
velop curriculum that is technical in
nature and geared towards training the
best of the best. And with the industry
partners the college has in place, there
are lots of jobs to be had for new grads
who come to understand the business
skills necessary for their careers.
MC College has truly become
a pillar of the communities where it
operates, offering a bright future for
those who want to be part of Canada’s
most exciting industries. To date, the
MC College Group has donated well
over 3 million dollars in scholarships
and charitable donations in the form
of services, products and dollars.
