stabilizing products to improve road
conditions, reduce costs and manage
dust,” he recalls, speaking of a time
when sustainability was not yet an in-
tegral part of business.
EarthZyme is a long-term soil
stabilizer for high clay content soils,
designed to strengthen and bind un-
paved road surfaces. The product
increases the density of the soil, and
therefore reduces permeability. The
result? Amore durable road during all
kinds of harsh weather. Mining com-
panies all over the world are using the
product, because mines are usually
built in isolated areas where traditional
road building materials are in short
supply, making it difficult to build a
durable all-weather road. “By using
the in-situ clay-based material, signifi-
cant cost savings are achieved by cut-
ting back on expensive material costs
such as aggregate and gravel. The ef-
fect on the clay is permanent; it does
not wash away in the rain and pro-
vides lasting stabilization for several
years,” the company explains.
Cypher also offers UltraZyme,
a blend of environmentally-friendly
cultures specifically designed to re-
mediate organic wastes and provide
odour control in a variety of water and
wastewater treatment-related appli-
cations. This product is becoming in-
creasingly popular in water treatment
in Canada, and is available in three
forms—manufactured into concentrat-
ed powder which significantly lowers
shipping costs. “UltraZyme products
are effective in both small and large-
scale wastewater treatment facilities
and effluent treatment applications,
and provide the ability to improve
their performance without increasing
the capacity of the facility,” the com-
pany says. This means that water treat-
ment facilities don’t have to incur high
capital costs to improve their facility to
obtain their desired results. And like
all other Cypher products, UltraZyme
products are 100 per cent environmen-
tally-friendly.
