CANADIAN INDUSTRY ONLINE - AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2012
Leveraging these relationships has
resulted in successfully influencing
changes in legislation and the devel-
opment of programs that impact our
members’ bottom line.
An example of this positive im-
pact is the Early Dispute Resolution
Program which has rescued and re-
stored a healthy contractor to owner
OGCA
relationship time and time again; and
is now part of the Ontario Realty Cor-
poration’s contract. Each year, the
OGCA saves its members
tens of thousands of dollars
by interceding in contract
disputes through this pro-
gram.
ON THE HORIZON
The OGCA will continue to focus on our Member priorities including:
•
Ensuring fairness for general contractors in contract negotiations
•
Increasing health and safety legislation and the added resources this
requires of general contractors
•
Advocating for fair infrastructure procurement policies that are more
favorable to all general contractors
•
Monitoring the current trend toward consolidation and the impacts of
P3 projects
